        I remember in earlier versions of Android, it was quite easy to move most or essentially all of an app to the memory card. Saving your contacts was a godsend when the phone burst into flames. The card didn't always survive, but if you move fast and work through the pain from your fingers getting burned, just move fast and your data could be removed from the phone to safety. The smart move is to replace the phone if it seems to run painfully hot and don't let it linger on running hot until it explodes or catches fire. My Android phone used to be able to store a lot of things on the memory chip. But no more. The code that does this is simply gone.
